Former Premium Times columnist, Gimba Kadanda has revealed that Nigeria total debt now stands at NGN29.3 trillion!

He revealed that after checking the Debt Management Office of Nigeria website, the update showed that the country is owing a total debt of ₦29,251,440,000 which then means that despite the minimum wage standing at ₦18,000; an estimate of ₦167,151 is owed by each individual.

His reaction came after the Honourable Minister of Finance, Budget & National Planning, Zainab Ahmed said that Nigeria has no debt problem in a post shared by The Cable, one of Nigeria’s independent online newspaper.

Excerpts from the tweet are below:

I just checked DMO website, and the last update on Nigeria’s total debts shows our total debts amount to about ₦29,251,440,000,000 (₦29.3 trillion). So each Nigerian owes N167,151 (based on our last official census). Nigerian minimum wage is STILL ₦18,000. We have a debt problem! https://t.co/740P5uCURS

As usual, Nigerians started reacting:
