EFCC Arrests 4 For Online Scam in Kano

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Nigeria’s leading antigraft agency has arrested six men in Kano over Internet crimes related activities.
The  Kano Zonal office of the EFCC made the arrest on Sunday September 22, 2019 after raiding the residence of suspected yahoo-yahoo fraudsters located at No. 282 HC Hotoro North Quarters, Kano.
Four of the arrested suspects who are Abubakar Ahmad, Bala Abubakar, Abdullahi Musa and Bashir Kasim were charged for Conspiracy and “OBT” meaning “Obtaining Under False Pretence”.

Edoboryi Osaruese Leerees 

In a separate arrest in Benin, one Edoboryi Osaruese Leerees, (23) who is a fake Jumia agent in Benin was also nabbed for duping a lady of ₦1,000,000 using WhatsApp to plead with her to help him market his products which were on sales at 40% discount.
Leerees style was using his social media platforms as an agent of Jumia to advertise goods which are purportedly on promo at cheaper prices.
Unsuspecting customers are then requested to send money into his account for goods which he never delivers and he has defrauded quite a few others which also include one Vin Diesel and Mark Sinclair, an American.
