The immediate past Governor and senator representing Imo West Senatorial District, Rochas Okorocha believes one senator per state will reduce the cost of governance in Nigeria.
While reacting to the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan’s concerns that Nigeria needs an economy that will provide jobs and create wealth, Okorocha said: “We must begin to make sacrifice and cut down our cost of governance by having just one Senatorial representative, instead of three (3) per state.”
Lawan had earlier noted at the plenary session that Nigeria “need diversification in various sectors of our economy like the agricultural sector, solid minerals and tourism.”
“The mono-economy is not working for this country,” Lawal had said.
