Presidency Set-up a 3 Man Interim Committee to Audit NDDC

President Buhari recently directed a comprehensive audit of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), covering from 2001–2019.
In line with that directive the President has approved the appointment of a 3 man Interim Management Committee (IMC) to prepare for the audit, they are:

  1. Dr. Gbene Joi Nunieh — Acting Managing Director
  2. Dr. Cairo Ojougboh — Acting Executive Director, Projects
  3. Chief Ibanga Bassey Etang — Acting Executive Director, Finance and Administration.

The IMC was inaugurated by the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio in Abuja on Tuesday, October 29, 2019.
The Inauguration of the new NDDC Board Members – whose names have been sent to the National Assembly for confirmation – will be put on hold until the forensic audit exercise is completed.
The IMC will also run the organization in the intervening period.
The Acting Managing Director of the board, Dr. Mrs Enyia Akwagaga had also been directed to hand over to the new Interim Committee on Wednesday 30th October, 2019, by 10am.
