The Paramount ruler of Badagry, Aholu Menu Toyi 1, the Akran of Badagry was honoured by the Rotary Club of Ibadan Onireke Neighbourhood on Sunday, 1st December 2019 in recognition to his contributions to national development and furtherance of Rotary ideals.
The Club President, Rotarian Adedotun Amori, while talking to newsmen in Badagry, Lagos said that “Oba Akran is a role model to us. He has done a lot for the town. He is an exemplary leader and people should learn from his great work.”
The honour was with the certificate of excellence for his contributions to the development of Badagry, Lagos State and Nigeria.

“We know what Badagry is to Nigeria. The first storey building in the country was built in Badagry. Christianity came to the country through the town. His Royal Majesty has been on the throne for 42 years. He has been there since 1977,” Amori concluded.
