Corona Virus: Lagos to Admit Only Severe Cases at Isolation Centres

With 199 new cases recorded for Lagos State of the 284 in Nigeria as at 20th May 2020 for COVID-19 cases, Lagos State is now running out of bed spaces considering the number of cases recorded daily to the State.
While noting rapid testing for COVID-19 in Lagos State especially in the armed forces and police force, the Commissioner for Health in the state, Prof. Akin Abayomi has said the state “have exceeded the containment phase now and now at the active community transmission stage.”
Lagos State is now poised to only admit severe cases at respective isolation centres and there will now be home treatment for patients with mild symptoms.
It was also learnt that many security agents in the state might have contracted the virus while at their respective duty post.
Also, a Naval Lieutenant commander was said to have died from Corona Virus complications at the weekend hence there is panic among officers in the force.
Already, some of the operativrs are among those quarantined at isolation and treatment centres in the state.
