Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the consensus candidate of a faction of the APC loyal to the National Chairman of the Party, Adams Oshiomole, is to battle Governor Obaseki for the party slot.
This is an update to the news shared earlier that the former Secretary to the Edo State Government has been chosen as the APC candidate.
Ize-Iyamu had emerged through an arrangement on Tuesday night in Abuja.
The Chairman of the Screening Committee, Senator Francis Alimikhena, a representative of the Edo North Senatorial District had presented him.
The party primary elections is scheduled for June 22.
