Nigeria’s former petroleum minister Diezani Allison-Madueke the one alleged for $20 billion embezzlement is now a Dominican Republic citizen and also their Trade and commerce commissioner.
$40 million jewelry was recovered by the Federal Government in July 2017 from her and $218,000 more were recovered from her in August 2017 then $153.3 million in Jan 2017.
Fresh evidence indicates that she plotted and secured a foreign country’s citizenship and political appointment in order to secure immunity from prosecution.
The documents at the disposal of Saturday Vanguard indicate that she carefully planned and obtained the citizenship of the the Commonwealth of Dominican Republic.
With these, she was subsequently appointed as the country’s Trade and Investment Commissioner.
To show that the appointment and offer of citizenship were not accidental, Diezani’s offer and acceptance were completed a few days before she left office on June 1, 2015, barely two days before the expiration of her tenure on May 29, 2015.
Diezani Alison-Madueke served as Nigeria’s first female Minister of Petroleum from 2010 to 2015.
She was Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation from 2007 – 2008 and Minister of Mines and Steel Development from 2008 – 201 0.
