Sequel to the October 10 2020 Ondo State elections, over 500,000 voters may be disenfranchised following decisions from INEC.
The Independent Electoral Commission noted that there will be no fresh registration of voters in the state.
Ondo State is estimated to have over 200,000 persons who are over 18 years and has over 372,888 Permanent Voter Cards, PVC, not collected.
The State’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Rufus Akeju, stated that from the 1,822,346 registered voters, only 1,478,470 PVCs are collected.
INEC also said there is no distribution of PVCs or carrying out of transfer and replacement of lost or defaced cards owing to the Corona Virus pandemic.
