Embattled Ondo State Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, hhas reportedly conceded plans to join the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP.
The ZLP already have chosen Rotimi Benjamin as the governorship candidate ahead of the October 10 elections.
Agboola defection is coming on the back of his recent inability to win the PDP’s primaries last week to Eyitayo Jegede.
An aide to the Deputy Governor also confirmed the report and Agboola is expected to meet with the leadership of ZLP in Abuja to finalise his plans next week.
The ZLP is the party of the immediate past governor of the state Dr. Olusegun Mimiko.
Agboola would replace the governorship candidate of ZLP, Rotimi Benjamin in the forthcoming pools it was gathered.
With this latest development, massive defection looms within the ruling All Progressive Congress and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party in the state.
He dusted other aspirants of the party to come second in the governorship primary barely a month after joining the PDP.
His Media Adviser, Allen Sowore said that his principal was still consulting and would declare his next political destination soon.
