The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has announced the name of Hon. Gboluga Ikengboju, as his running mate in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
Jegede, in a statement he personally signed in Akure, the state capital on Monday, said he took that decision after extensive consultations with leaders of the party across the 18 local governments of the state.
It was learnt that the name of Gboluga, has been forwarded to the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) to replace the name of Olumide Ogunje, earlier submitted by Jegede ahead of tomorrow’s deadline for substitution of candidates’ names.
Gboluga is a serving member of the house of representatives, representing Okitipupa/Irele federal constituency.
Jegede said, “In the task of rebuilding the confidence of our people in their government and in restoring hope for a better life under a PDP administration in Ondo State, and following extensive consultations with leaders of our party, I am pleased, to announce that Hon. Gboluga Ikengboju, will be working with me in seeking your mandate in the October 10, 2020 governorship election.
“We will also work with other notable leaders of our great party in different capacities. In this regard, we salute the commitment, conviction, support and understanding of all the aspirants and other leaders of our party.”
