The conveners of the #FixLagosBadagryExpressway peaceful protest have been released.
The duo of Mark Akande and Kareem Ogunro had been arrested initially while Ovi Manuel Kuponu was later arrested for leading the request for a good road in Badagry along the route.
The trio in a short video via Modiu Olaguro after their release had thanked Bar. Femi Falana, Yele Sowore, CDHR, members of the Nigeria Police Force amongst other notable persons and organisations who had come to their aid.
Sequel to the protest, the member representing Badagry at Federal House of Representatives, Babatunde Hunpe, had pleaded with organisers of the October 1st protest on the deplorable conditions of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway to shelve the planned protest.
They had however gone ahead in a peaceful manner only to be arrested by the Nigeria Police.
The trio will be departing Panti in Yaba to Badagry later tonight after their release from detention.
