A chieftain of the Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Fouad Oki has reacted to the recent decamping of the Lagos4Lagos group initiator and his members to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP saying he will encourage whatever decision Olajide Adediran aka Jandor decides to take.
In a radio interview with Jimi Disu on Nigeria Info 99.3FM’s Morning Digest aired on Tuesday morning, Fouad maintained that he is still a member of the APC and going nowhere but that politically himself and Jandor are soulmates though there has been no discussion about the recent movement out of the APC.
“We are the only one that can push those that refuse to do the right thing out, he is my brother and I will encourage whatever decision he decides to take. Politically he has a goal and this is seeking the governorship of Lagos. He is in the best position to determine which way to go, which platform will be veritable for him to use.”
“For me, I’m not planning to be president or governor, I am a party administrator and I have found the need and a reason to assist in giving our party a 360 degree turnaround for the better so I don’t have any choice or any reason whatsoever to port but for him he must that he has a goal post therefore nobody should feel anyhow about his decision to port. If he rightly believe that’s the best place he can ventilate his decisions, so be it.”
Fouad however believe that the exit of Jandor from the APC is no loss to him in the party rather his support towards him is an added value to what is doing.
“I have been on this journey before he decided to transform his NGO into a political movement.”
Olajide Adediran popularly known as Jandor however clarified that the Lagos4Lagos Movement from the very beginning started with no party interests at heart rather a political movement irrespective of the party affiliation serving the interests of the members at heart.
Reacting to the governance of Lagos State, Oki advised that Adediran’s position should not be taken for nothing that the State is not working well.
“Yes, the administration is trying but not good enough. All of us Lagosians is not about party, yes the man (Governor) is trying but this is not good enough for Lagos. What I expect all of us as leaders of the party is that we are resolute and determined to deliver quality services to Lagosians which we have pledged to do but we are having issues and working towards it, please join us.”
The official declaration of the acceptance of the movement into the PDP is scheduled for 18th December 2021 and subject to the approval of the Governor of Oyo State.
