Mixed reactions have continued to trail the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Solomon Saanu Bonu’s post on Facebook which hinted he aspires to be the Governor of the state sometimes in the future.
Bonu had posted on his timeline with a caption “The Dream….. Dream Big….. #ForAGreaterLagos #dreams”
He was appointed from the Lagos State University (LASU) after vying for the Lagos State House of Assembly Constituency 1 seat in 2019 but missed out to the incumbent, Ibrahim Olanrewaju Layode, but there are indications that he is nursing the ambition for the seat again.
While many on the post believed it is a big but possible yet a progressive dream, some feel otherwise and such is a critic and social media commentator Samuel Nunayon Oluwatosin La’bobo whose comment has generated much reactions alike.
He wrote below:
😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴 if una don wake up make una let us know…. Governor no be for people that cannot farabale politically…. if na so Fashola, Ambode & Sanwo-Olu made dere dreamz public nii I’m sure den no go be governor of Lagos….
On his part, a journalist cum commentator, Podo Sunday Sedegla Joseph questioned Samuel’s dream for Badagry with such reaction and noted this is about Badagry and should not have gone so low. He queried thus:
Samuel Nunayon Oluwatosin La’bobo Haaaaaaa ☺️☺️☺️ Your kind of politics is alien to Badagry I swear. Even those whose identity some are questioning today won’t go this low. This is about Badagry and NOT a personal campaign for political relevance. Your vituperation suggests Badagry isn’t ripe to be Governor, why throw away the baby with the bath water¿ Very annoying, and one begin to wonder, what are your dreams for Badagry if any ¿¿
Is this the kind of politics you wish to import from your undemocratic Saudi Arabia ¿¿
On Amos Kuton’s part, he believes that the rate of selfish and greedy mindset of Badagry leaders is a huge part in this. He commented thus:
I can assure you sir that it’s possible but not with the rate of selfish and greedy mindset of leaders in our Badagry politics. It’s can only be achieve with a lot of sacrifices, commitment and faith. We are part of Lagos… It’s our right!
