With the recent approval of nine programmes by the National Universities Commission (NUC), the 290th Senate Session of the Lagos State University has approved the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies.
With this, the School of Communication, LASU will become a full Faculty on its own.
The aura of the news has been welcoming to the citadel of learning with the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello praised for playing “a motherly role in ensuring this approval”.
An official of the new Faculty cheered:
“Congratulations to all Professors, Heads, academic, non-academic staff and the world-class students of the new Faculty of Communication and Media Studies.
“We must also place on record the role of the school as the Premier School of Communication in Nigeria that awards seven distinct Bachelor of Science degree programmes as far back as the Year 2000.“
