Onilude Host Students, Promises To Intensify Efforts In Achieving Educational Goals That Guarantee Equal Opportunity For All

Badagry Local Government, on Saturday 1st, 2022, being an Independence Day, hosted school children as part of the events marking the 62nd Independence Anniversary of the nation.

You may recall that Hon. Olusegun Onilude-led administration has demonstrated commitment towards education and giving hope to school children in the recent times, amongst which were the Summer school organized, free GCE to scores of children, etc.

October 1st is a special day in Nigeria as it is a reminder of how Nigeria became independent from the British rule. To celebrate the 62nd occasion of the feast, Hon. Onilude considered school pupils as the most significant importance of the celebration.

The occasion, which was well attended by high-profile dignitaries, including traditional rulers, was fully packed with interesting activities from the Local Government.

The Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Olusegun Onilude was unavoidably absent but was represented by the Vice-Chair, Hon. ( Mrs) Elizabeth Kappo.

The program was organized by the Education Department, led by Mrs Sewede Olorunfemi Pot-Balogun. In Welcome address, Mrs Sewede emphasized the importance of education as a tool to achieving a society of equal opportunities for all.

“Egalitarian society is a society where everyone, young and old, boys and girls, men and women, has equal opportunities to excel.”, Sewede registered.

Continuing her speech , she said: “For us to achieve such a society, education is a major determinant.

“As a government, we are aware of this and we shall continue to give our maximum support where necessary.”

15 primary schools across the perimeter of the local government area were in attendance amongst which were L.A Primary School, Tohon, Ansarudeen Primary School, Gbenopo Primary School, Ajara, Anglican Primary School, Igborosun, L.A Primary School, Ajido, L.A Primary School, Topo Idale, etc.

Gracing the occasion were Wife of the Executive Chairman, Mrs Ramota Onilude, Secretary to the Local Government, Mr. Moses Opa, His Royal Majesty, Agano Toniyon of Aganmathen Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Ovitotode of Ikoga, and The AOPSHON Chairman, Mr. J Oni.

Others were the Education Secretary, Alhaja Modinat, ably represented by Alhaja Kike Ladipo, supervisors, councillors NYCN representatives.
