Chinese Automobile, Changan, Targets Nigeria for Latest SUVs

With the recent ban on importation of used vehicles through the land borders in Nigeria, Chinese automobile manufacturer, Changan Automobile (Group) Co. Limited has unleashed their CS75 SUV.
Changan recently movined their motor assembly plant to Lagos.

Nigeria is however considered the biggest market in Africa with about 11.7 million vehicles estimated to be in the country and about 6.8 million of these being commercial vehicles.
Changan’s move comes within the space that despite automobile companies investing a whooping ₦2 trillion to build assembly plants in Nigeria yet there has been no ROI – Returns On Investment so far.
Also, Changan now joins the likes of JAC, King Long amongst others in the Nigerian market which implies that more companies are beginning to target Nigeria’s large population for investment, and job creation in the manufacturing sector.
