The Lagos State Government is set to name a modern jetty which will be constructed after Pa Kiki Whenu, the former Badagry Local Government chairman who died on 23rd September 2019.
The Special Adviser on Tourism, Solomon Bonu, while speaking at the funeral service for the late administrator at Freeman Memorial Methodist Cathedral, Badagry on Friday informed so.
Bonu said Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu had directed Lagos State Waterways Authority, LASWA, to name the new Badagry jetty after the late council boss.
He also noted that Kìkì Whenu used his tenure as council chairman to turn the fortune of his people and community around for the better by embarking upon various notable and enduring projects.
Also, the Chairman of the Badagry Local Government, Olusegun Onilude, has announced the renaming of the on-going Badagry Roundabout Shopping Complex after him.
