3 Feared Dead in Ijanikin Accident Along Lagos-Badagry Expressway

At least three persons are feared dead Tuesday morning and two others injured in an accident at Ijanikin, along the Badagry Expressway in Lagos.
The accident which occurred around 12:30am was said to have been caused by reckless driving when a motorcyclist carrying two passengers attempted to overtake and a 40 feet oncoming container truck crushed them while moving against traffic.
An eyewitness, Chioma Ogbonna noted that “the truck damaged about five vehicles parked in a mechanic workshop at Ketu Bus Stop, Ijanikin and also hit an electric pole, climbing over several kiosks before halting on the roadside.”
Deputy Superintendent of Police and the spokesman, Bala Elkana, who confirmed the incident noted that “the driver of the truck was driving against traffic and unfortunately he ran into the motorcycle carrying the three persons who were heading towards Agbara.”
