The Lagos State University, LASU, will be getting 8,200 bed-space hostel which will be handled by 6 private developers worth ₦130 billion.
This was disclosed by the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the state House in Marina on Friday.
The project is expected to be completed within the next 18 months and is coming after 36 years of being a non residential university and is expected to cater for about 30% of the 26,000 students population.
Prof. Lanre Fagbohun, the Vice Chancellor of the University described the project as a catalyst that would radically change landscape of the institution.
The Governor, however, cautioned the developers against defaulting on neither terms of agreement nor agreed deadline for project completion.
