Just In: Supreme Court Sacks PDP’s Ihedioha, Declares APC’s Uzodinma Governor

The Supreme Court has sacked Emeka Ihedioha of the PDP as governor of Imo State declaring Senator Hope Uzodinma of the APC winner of election.
Hope Uzodinma is now the governor-elect pending his swearing-in.
This is the first time that the Supreme Court has nullified election in an election petition.
Previous cases where persons declared by INEC were removed by the Supreme Court were based on pre-election cases (cases relating to primaries and right candidature) like the cases of Amaechi and the recent decision on Zamfara.
Reasons for today’s judgment are still awaited.
