Former Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Olisa Metuh has been convicted and sentenced to seven years after being prosecuted by the EFCC for four years.
The verdict was delivered by Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja in which he was found guilty of committing Money Laundering offence for being in possession of the sum of ₦400, 000, 000 (Four Hundred Million Naira).
The judge said the prosecution proved the case of Money laundering against Metuh for taking ₦400million from his Diamond Bank account without any contractual award.
“The prosecution had satisfied the requirement and established the ingredients against count one, Metuh should have reasonably known that the money formed part of illegal funds” the judge read.
