#payusviaBVN Trends as Nigerians Demand to be Paid for Lockdown Extension

Following the extension of the lockdown as announced by President Muhammadu Buhari, Nigerians are reacting via twitter using the hastag #payusviaBVN to demand for renumeration during the period.

The Bank Verification Number commonly called BVN is a biometric identification system implemented by the Central Bank of Nigeria to curb or reduce illegal banking transactions in Nigeria.
It is a modern security measure in line with the Central Bank of Nigeria Act 1958 to reduce fraud in the banking system.

With references to Namibia and Canada where the government have been depositing moneys in individuals accounts, Nigerians are also demanding same.

Some are even angry with banks who opted to donate billions of naira to the government which they say will be squandered while they have almost nothing in their accounts.
