NBC Sanctioned Two Stations for COVID-19 Infractions

The National Broadcasting Corporation, NBC, has fined two radio stations on account of their inappropriate reports on COVID-19.
This was announced by the Acting Director General of the Commission, Prof. Armstrong Idachaba during a media brief at the amendment to the broadcast code and other issues.
The affected stations are Adaba FM and Breeze FM in Ondo State.
They are fined ₦250,000 each and Adaba FM is to pay twice.
Also, 25 other stations were noted to have been sanctioned for various offences in the first quarter of 2020.
The DG however noted that the broadcast code will be published soon then announced a timetable for the Digital Switch Over (DSO) which will be effective immediately after the lockdown.
