Popular Badagry Politician, OSK, Explains Why He Choose APC Over PDP, Labour Party

Vibrant Badagry youth politician, Oluwadamilare Samuel Kafisewon popularly called OSK has explained why he decamped to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

OSK and his thousands of followers on Thursday, 18th November 2021 decamped to the APC after contesting on the platforms of the PDP and Labour Party over the years.

In a chat with O’News Blog, Kafisewon explained that he took the chance with the APC over his political calculations and quality representation for his people.
In his words, “in the six (6) wards in Badagry Constituency 1, only one is predominantly the Aworis and we do not have a fair representation looking at the Ayonu/Awori dichotomy. When the call came in from the APC caucus, I had to reject outrightly and consult with the party leaders in the PDP as well but could not get the needed feedback”
He also noted the internal issues within the PDP as a major factor which is not favourable and acknowledged the party structure in the APC as a better alternative.
Reacting to the youths supports to his candidacy, Kafisewon said: “the youth agenda we are talking about now, how many of the youths contributed ₦500 or ₦1000 to OSK, Ovi Kuponu or Basit Badaru and others who contested the last elections? Many don’t know what we are going through but only come around to talk back at us. What are we going to do? When APC first called me, I rejected their offer outrightly but later after much consideration, I sat back and ask myself what are my gains and benefits for rejecting? Just look at various agencies in Lagos State and see their General Managers and Administrators, they are all about young and vibrant youths.”
When asked if he would decamp if he had won the elections on the platform of the PDP or any other opposing party to APC he said that would be another scenario but cannot say how it would be or not.
While reacting to being dumped by the PDP at the last minute in the last elections, OSK explained “I can’t just keep up with that, I revived the party when I came on-board and used personal resources and made sure PDP is virtually almost everywhere in Badagry in my best ways with my campaign but was denied the ticket to someone else I never could have imagined, what’s the essence of the passion and the level of educational exposure? It is a slap and if it had been someone quite exposed, I’d take it in good faith.”
On his choice for the APC, he said, “we need to challenge the status quo and for those already in the APC, people like me will bring a good fight on the choice of candidacy that will be chosen, we need to give them a run for their money and its not going to be politics as usual. Sharing three political slots – the House of Representatives, House of Assembly for Constituency 1 and 2 isn’t that herculean between the major clans after all at Olorunda LCDA, we’ve not been able to get any representation at the Reps or Assembly.”
For the youths who are laid back, OSK advised that they should come out if they really want a positive impact, things cannot be done by not taking actions to making the difference.

The event hosted party faithfuls and dignitaries in their thousands held in Ajido. Some in attendance included a leader of APC at Ward F, Badagry Constituency 1, the new Ward A in Olorunda LCDA, Mr. Ishola Rasak, the Olori of Imeke Kingdom, who is also a leader in the party, Mrs. Temitope Felicia Ogabi, a Councilor representing Ward A in Olorunda LCDA, Mr. Idowu Olasunkanmi and the Press to mention but a few.
Recall that OSK ran for the Lagos State House of Assembly in 2019 on the platform of Labour Party and prior to that time, he was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party.
