Lagos State Government Halts Reinstatement of Sacked ASUU-LASU Lecturers

The five lecturers were sacked on September 12, 2017 and September 17, 2019 by the immediate past Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun over gross misconduct.

The decision to reinstate five suspended members of the ASUU-LASU branch has been rescinded by the Governing Council of the Lagos State University, LASU.

This is coming barely a week after the David Sunmoni led Governing Council was directed by the Lagos State Government to halt and meet again on the matter.

According to a report from the Daily Sun, the Governing Council met virtually for less than 30 minutes and revoked its earlier approval on the reinstatement of the Union leaders.

Those sacked includes: Dr. Akinloye Isaac Oyewumi (Chairman), Dr. Adebowale Adeyemi-Suenu (Vice Chairman), Dr. Anthony Dansu (Secretary), Dr. Adeolu Oluwaseyi Oyekan (Assistant Secretary) and Dr. Oluwakemi Aboderin-Shonibare (Treasurer).
