The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu, has been suspended by the Executive Committee.
Ayu was suspended by 12 of the 17 Executive Committee in Igyorov Ward in Gboko Area of Benue State after a vote of no confidence was passed on him for anti-party activities
They further reiterate that the suspension is with immediate effect.
They suspended Ayu for anti-party activities after passing a vote of no confidence on him.
According to the Secretary of the party in Igyorov ward, Banger Dooyum, Ayu’s anti-party activities – alongside his allies – contributed to PDP’s loss in his ward and local government in the governorship election.
The National Chairman is also accused of not paying his annual dues as enshrined by the party’s constitution and being absent during the elections held on 18th March for the Governorship and State Assembly.
