Hon. Habeebat Deen has been selected by the Kogi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the deputy governorship candidate to Dino Melaye for the upcoming November 11, 2023 election in the State.

NewStori gathered that she was unveiled at the private residence of a former governor of the state, Ibrahim Idris, in Abuja by the Governorship candidate, Melaye.
Melaye explained that the choice of Habeebat Deen – a female as his running mate is unprecedented in the state and this is to affirm the party’s commitment to innovative ways to politics for Kogi State.
The meeting also had in attendance some PDP bigwigs such as Engr. Sam Ohuotu, the State PDP chairman; Brigadier General Tunde Ogbeha (rtd); Prince Olusola Akanmode; Dr. Tom Adaba; and Mrs Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to name but these few.
Reactions From Politicians At The Unveiling
The former Governor of the State, Ibrahim Idris, enjoined members of the party to stay united in order to be victorious at the polls.
We need to work together as members of the same family. If that is done, I believe success is ours.
On her part, Akpoti-Uduaghan hailed the party’s gender balance and promised to mobilize women in Kogi Central for the success of the PDP in the election.
Gen. Ogbeha was however full of praise for the former Senator for nominating a female candidate as the deputy governorship position.
He said it is a divine choice that would generate interest and goodwill for the party and then appealed to all PDP members to support Melaye’s candidacy for the success of the party in the forthcoming election.
