President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken over as the 16th president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He was sworn in by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Oluwakayode Ariwoola alongside the Vice President, Kashim Shettima.

A former military president of the country, Ibrahim Babangida, has also described Tinubu aka Jagaban as smart.
IBB narrated that Tinubu needs all the skills to be able to unite Nigeria. He made this known while being interviewed on Arise TV.
While expressing the view that the country has some of the best brains that he can tap from to revamp every sector, including the military.
On Tinubu, Babangida said,
“Tinubu is a very skilful politician who needs to apply his skills to unite a very polarized nation.
“He must galvanize Nigeria’s economic heavyweights, home and abroad, to address the economy of the nation and reposition the armed forces.
“As Commander-in-Chief, he needs to take a good look at the armed forces to reorient them, retrain them and reorganize them because the armed forces have undergone a lot of processes that need to be put together and make them more efficient.
How Fate Determined Tinubu’s Victory
As fate would have it, Tinubu was declared winner of the February 25, 2023 presidential poll having polled 8,794,726 votes.
He defeated his closest challenger, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 6,984,520 votes and Peter Obi of the Labour Party who came third with a total of 6,101,533 votes, while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP came fourth with 1,496,687 votes
