Contrary to news emanating in the press last week that LemFi and formerly known as Lemonade Finance may be barred from operating in Nigeria, RightCard Payment Services Ltd the licenced company has restated their authorisation.
Recall that O’News Blog earlier reported that news had it that RightCard Payment Services Ltd which has been trading as LemFi might be restricted from doing business in Nigeria by the CBN for aiding the activities of criminals in the country following a similar issue with another trading company, Binance which has led to the arrests of some of that company’s executives.
LemFi is currently authorised as an International Money Transfer Operator in Nigeria by the Central Bank of Nigeria when it was formally licensed in July 2023.
Similarly, in February 2023, RightCard “LemFi” got the approval from the Bank of Ghana to partner with select payment companies to deliver its money transfer services to Ghana.
LemFi is also licensed as an Electronic Money Institution with the Financial Conduct Authority in the United Kingdom.
