Niger's Governor, Abubakar, Distributes Hilux Vans to LG Chairmen

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has distributed 25 Hilux Vans to the Local Government Council Chairmen in the state in its bid to promote good governance and ensure adequate monitoring of the activities.

At the presentation, the Governor pleaded that they be responsible for their their finances and despite the autonomy of the local government, each Council Chairman is to be held solely accountable for the finances allocated to him.
The ALGON Chairman and Chairman, Chanchaga Local Govt council, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar however expressed gratitude to the governor for ensuring prompt distribution of the vans as this will ease their movement.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mohamed Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji, also challenged the Council Chairmen to ensure they put them to use strictly for official purposes.
