The Kwara State Government has reacted to the viral video of Ms Ajayi Omolola who was sold into slavery under the disguise of being a teacher in Lebanon.
Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq on Friday, in Ilorin in a statement through his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, reacted to the video footage said “the governor condemns this development in the strongest terms possible and has immediately linked up with the security agencies to get to the root of the matter.”
It was revealed that two Nigerians – Olatunji Sanusi (a lawyer) and one Tunde with a Lebanese, Wasit Muhammad, have been arrested in connection with the footage and being interrogated but one other member, identified simply as Joseph is currently at large.
The statement also revealed that there are at least 28 other victims of the trafficking gang in Kwara State which there are discreet investigations carried out by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
The travel agent who is also the leader of the team, Sanusi Adetunji had described the viral video as cheap publicity as Omolola’s travel to Lebanon was done under a legitimate contract.
