Tourism in Badagry May be Hindered by the Bad Roads – Onilude

Owing to the state of the bad portions and various checkpoints on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, the chairman of the Local Government, Onilude Segun Adediran, has lamented these will hinder tourism developments in the post COVID-19 era in the ancient town.
Onilude asserted that most investors are discouraged from citing their industries and fascinating edifices in Badagry due to the state of the bad roads.
He also stressed the urgent need to address security challenges facing the tourism industry before the post COVID-19.
In his words: “my advice to stakeholders is when they are invited, which would not be too long, everybody should endeavour to be available so that we rub minds together and see what we can fix on our own, it’s not everything that government must fix for us.
“What are the things we can fix on our own, what are the things we are doing that are detrimental to the development of industries, so we can try to correct them, then from that place maybe we would have a voice, a louder voice to reach out to the higher authorities to come to our aid.”
Onilude, however, emphasised Badagry has the potential to be great, but lacks the infrastructure to support what is on the ground, as it needs facilities that would support what is already available.
