Tiamiyu before the interview is popular to netizens who surf the Internet and are on YouTube to get ideas and/or support for their migration.
“People are looking for alternatives…. they want to escape Nigeria,” he said in his interview with the BBC in May 2023 and not long after that, the UK government banned students from coming over to the country with their families with effect from January 2024 in order to cut net migration using the students route.
What Tiamiyu Did That Led to His ‘Arrest’
Many have moved on from the news but the scars seems not to be healed when on Friday, 22nd March 2023 evening, an X (twitter) user raised alarm that the YouTuber has been arrested by the British government.
According to the video, Tiamiyu, was granted asylum and got £160,000 from the government and he thereafter secretly came to Nigeria where he had said his life is in danger and started building a mansion which negate the terms of his asylum.
The video further said that he has been arrested and put behind the bars and faces imprisonment up to 10 years if found guilty.

Since the news broke till almost 24 hours, there has not been any official news on this information from the UK media so the situation of Emdee Tiamiyu cannot be authenticated at the moment.
